Nepal: over 900 workers feared trapped in hydropower tunnels after flash floods
More than 900 hydropower construction workers are missing in Nepal after devastating flash floods last week, with hundreds feared trapped in tunnels and underground areas at 11 hydropower sites. The death toll from the unprecedented deluge of ice, rock, mud and debris has risen to 903, with 16 more deaths reported in Tibet, and nearly 5,000 people missing across the China-Nepal border. Rescue teams are racing to reach the underground sites.
