Warsaw bids farewell to uprising fighter Wanda Traczyk-Stawska "Pączek"
A funeral Mass for Wanda Traczyk-Stawska, known by her wartime pseudonym "Pączek," was held at the Holy Cross Church on Krakowskie Przedmieście in Warsaw. The venue was deeply symbolic: in August 1944, she and her unit recaptured that very church from German forces during the Warsaw Uprising. She was a longtime social activist and one of the last known participants of the uprising.
