Rocky planets may have formed just 100 million years after the Big Bang

Computer simulations suggest rocky planets could have started forming just 100 million years after the Big Bang, far earlier than previously believed. Enormous early supernovae scattered planet-building elements across space. Researchers found enough solid material and water around young stars to suggest Earth-like worlds could have appeared in the very early universe.
