Record summer in Germany: biggest heatwave in measurement history, says weather service

Germany's national weather service DWD reported that this summer was record-breaking in multiple respects. The late-June heatwave was the largest ever recorded and contributed to drought, drying rivers and forest fires. The findings come from a preliminary seasonal assessment by the service.
