Poland's deposit return system lost over 50 mln PLN last year

Operators of Poland's deposit return system ended last year with combined losses exceeding 50 million PLN, according to a Wirtualna Polska analysis. The biggest loser was Kaucja.pl, co-founded by Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Oshee, Żywiec-Zdrój and Maspex, which lost 27 million PLN. Operators say December 31 is the key date after which the system can be properly assessed, asking critics to wait for a full year of operation.
