The Witcher 4 will get a physical release despite Sony's plans

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 4 will launch no earlier than 2028. The PlayStation version will likely not come on a disc due to Sony's policies, but the studio has announced it will still prepare a physical edition of the game. The developer stressed it has always supported physical releases.
