US strikes Iran's Larak Island after rockets with sea mines spotted

U.S. forces struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Persian Gulf after observing military personnel preparing to deploy rockets loaded with sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins confirmed the strike and said U.S. forces remain prepared to protect freedom of navigation through the waterway. It is the first U.S. strike on Iran in a month; Trump had previously warned that any new attempt to mine the strait would be "immediately and systematically destroyed."
