11-year-old Polish girl drowns in hotel pool in Crete, Greek police open investigation

An 11-year-old Polish girl was pulled unconscious from a hotel swimming pool in Platanias, Crete, during a family holiday. Despite intensive resuscitation efforts and a police-escorted rush to hospital, she died. Greek police have opened an investigation into the incident.
