Polygon quietly patched security flaws in Austin and Kyoto hard forks before disclosure
Polygon deployed two hard forks — Austin and Kyoto — on its Bor and Heimdall clients and patched denial-of-service and consensus-hardening flaws before publicly disclosing them. The company says neither vulnerability was ever exploited in the wild. The quiet rollout was a deliberate security measure ahead of the disclosure.
