mBank and shipyards: Poland needs its own dual-use industrial base

The dual-use concept — combining civilian and military applications — now extends well beyond traditional arms production to include thermal clothing, wind farms and data centres. Adam Pers of mBank and Ireneusz Karaśkiewicz of the European Shipbuilding Association argue Poland needs its own local content strategy and new financing tools for such projects. Frigates and drones are cited as examples of equipment that can strengthen both defence and the economy.
