Farm debt hits 5-year low nationally, but rises in 9 of 16 regions

Total overdue debt in Poland's agricultural sector stood at 653.8 million zloty at the end of June — the lowest in five years, according to BIG InfoMonitor and BIK data. However, farmers' debt rose year-on-year in 9 of 16 voivodeships. The fastest growth was in Lubuskie (up 34% to 46.6 million zloty), while Lubelskie recorded the largest absolute increase, reaching 126 million zloty.
