NASA launches Roman Space Telescope to hunt for 100,000 new planets

NASA has launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope into orbit. The observatory is designed to study dark energy, black holes and exoplanets — planets outside our Solar System — with the goal of discovering up to 100,000 new planets. The telescope has already reached space and begun its scientific mission.
