8 dead after ferry sinks off Northern Cyprus, captain arrested

The death toll from a ferry disaster off the northern coast of Cyprus has risen to eight. The vessel sank to a depth of over 500 metres. Authorities of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus detained the captain and seven other people. Poland's Foreign Ministry confirmed no Polish citizens were on board.
