French LGBTQ activist hospitalised after homophobic attack in Paris Marais district

Pierre Picave, a French police officer and head of an LGBTQ rights association, was hospitalised after a nighttime attack in the Marais district of central Paris. Prosecutors described the incident as a homophobic attack. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire condemned what he called a "despicable homophobic attack". A suspected attacker has been taken into custody.
