Scammers woke 84-year-old at night and stole 30,000 zł under guise of protecting her savings

An 84-year-old woman from Łapy in the Podlaskie region received a night-time phone call in which the caller claimed that criminals were about to raid her home but that police had already surrounded the building. Told to pack her savings and leave them outside the door to "protect" them, she complied and lost 30,000 złoty. The incident is a classic "fake police officer" fraud scheme.
