Kashmir's master silk carpet weavers earn just $5 a day for luxury exports
Hand-woven silk carpets from Kashmir, sold in Poland for between roughly 2,000 and 390,000 złoty, are among the region's most lucrative exports. The master craftspeople who make them earn just $5 a day. Young Kashmiris are increasingly refusing to take up the trade because of the poverty-level pay.
