France's presidential campaign heats up eight months before first round
France's presidential election first round is scheduled for April 18, with the campaign slowly gathering pace. Socialist leader Olivier Faure addressed his party's two-day gathering on Saturday but has yet to formally declare his candidacy. Far-right politician Jordan Bardella campaigned at a fair in the Champagne region, following a debate earlier in the week between seven leading candidates organised by business leaders.
