Canada Turns Away from U.S. Arms, Looks to Europe and Domestic Industry
Canadian Defence Secretary of State Stephen Fuhr acknowledged that the trade war with the United States makes it politically difficult to sign new arms contracts with American companies. Ottawa is now prioritising domestic defence industry development and European partnerships, including with Poland. The shift is a direct consequence of trade tensions between Canada and Washington.
