Sweden to send Gripen jets and warships to help Finland counter drones

Sweden and Finland announced on 28 August a deepened defence partnership focused on surveillance and drone countermeasures over Finnish territory. Swedish armed forces, including Gripen jets and naval vessels, are now legally able to operate in Finland even in peacetime if both governments deem it necessary. The agreement goes beyond information sharing and includes fully operational military mechanisms.
