US Navy orders Castelion's Blackbeard hypersonic weapon system for $90m

The US Navy has awarded Castelion a contract worth nearly $90 million to accelerate development of its Blackbeard hypersonic weapon system toward early operational capability. Notably, Castelion has raised more private capital in its latest funding round alone than the total value of all its Defence Department contracts combined. The programme aims to produce relatively low-cost hypersonic missiles.
