Poland's education reform aims to give students a reason to learn

Tomasz Gajderowicz, deputy head of the Educational Research Institute (IBE) responsible for shaping the reform, says Polish students perform well cognitively but often fail to see the point of what they are learning or believe it will be useful in life. The new education reform is designed to close that gap. Changes are being introduced from September and are described as going deeper than a simple curriculum update.
