Orlen Wisła Płock defeated Industria Kielce 27-24 in the Polish Handball Super Cup. The match was level at 19-19 at half-time, but Płock pulled away in the second half thanks to sharper attacking play and an impressive performance from goalkeeper Marko Alilović. It was the first instalment of this season's "Holy War" derby between the two clubs.
