2,500-year-old marble statue with intact face unearthed at Sardis
Archaeologists excavating the ancient city of Sardis in western Turkey have uncovered a monumental marble statue roughly 220 cm tall, depicting a young man. The sculpture dates to the Lydian kingdom period, approximately 2,500 years ago, and is remarkably well preserved, including the face.
