Cyborg cockroaches designed for disaster rescue reach targets 95% of the time

Engineers at the University of Queensland and UNSW in Australia fitted live cockroaches with electrode harnesses, cameras and tiny injectors to create cyborgs capable of navigating collapsed structures to reach disaster survivors. The systems achieved a 95% target-reaching success rate, with the full movement-and-injection sequence succeeding 72% of the time. The cockroaches survived the fitting procedure without apparent harm.
