Soldier mutiny in Niger: gunfire near palace, TV blocked

A group of soldiers mutinied at a military base in Niamey, Niger's capital, and opened fire on "sensitive targets" including the presidential palace area and the airport, according to Defence Minister Gen. Salifou Modi. Television broadcasts were reportedly blocked during the unrest.
