Ex-guerrillas in Colombia fear for their future under new hardline president

In mid-June, 99 guerrilla fighters were flown to southern Colombia where they handed over their weapons — rifles, pistols, machine guns and grenade launchers — and burned their uniforms. The disarmament was the result of the previous government's "Total Peace" plan, which convinced only 99 of Colombia's estimated 30,000 armed combatants to lay down their arms. New hardline president Abelardo De la Espriella opposes peace agreements, leaving the ex-fighters uncertain about their future.
