Europeans flee the heat — bookings to Scandinavia up 60% this summer

This summer, bookings from Spain, Italy and France to cooler parts of northern Sweden rose by 50–60% year-on-year, according to airline data. More Europeans are swapping Sicily and Andalusia for Brittany, Scotland or Scandinavia. The shift is driven by increasingly extreme heat in the Mediterranean linked to climate change.
