New EU parcel fee cuts small China shipments by 50% in one month

After a 3-euro customs fee was introduced on low-value parcels from outside the EU, their number halved in one month. In June there were nearly 4.24 million customs declarations; by July that dropped to just 2.1 million, according to the Ministry of Finance. The new rules have hit trade with Chinese platforms such as Shein and Temu hardest.
