Flash floods on Nepal-China border cut off pilgrims heading to Mount Kailash

A violent flash flood on the Nepal-China border struck the area around the pilgrimage route to Mount Kailash, a peak sacred to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Bon followers. Groups of pilgrims were on the trail when the disaster struck, cutting them off from their route. Mount Kailash is considered one of the world's most extraordinary peaks and draws large numbers of devotees year-round.
