Single parents in Poland: invisible to the state, stigmatised by society
More than 2.5 million people in Poland are raising children alone, accounting for 24% of all families and one in three families with children. Despite the scale of the issue, single parents remain largely overlooked in state social policy. Part of society views them as privileged and demanding, compounding their already difficult situation.
