Ratko Mladić, "Butcher of Bosnia," dies in prison aged 84

Ratko Mladić, the Bosnian Serb general convicted of genocide and war crimes committed during the 1990s conflict in Bosnia, has died in prison at the age of 84. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2017 by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Mladić was held responsible for the Srebrenica massacre, in which more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslims were killed.
