Berlin refuses to pay ransom after hackers steal city data

Berlin mayor Kai Wegner has revealed that the German capital was hit by a cyber-attack in which hackers stole data and are demanding a ransom. Wegner stated that the city-state will not yield to the blackmail and refuses to pay. As both a city and a federal state, the attack affects Berlin's municipal and regional administration alike.
