FDA approves updated Juul e-cigarette with optional age-verification system
The US Food and Drug Administration has approved Juul Labs' updated e-cigarette, which includes an optional age-gating system designed to prevent underage use. It is the first time in over a decade that the company has received federal clearance to sell a new version of its top-selling device. Juul has paid approximately $3 billion to settle government and private lawsuits over teen use of its products in recent years.
