Greenland to establish truth commission over Denmark's forced contraception campaign
Greenland's government announced Friday the creation of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to investigate a Danish-run forced contraception campaign conducted from the 1960s until 1990. Thousands of Indigenous women and girls received intrauterine devices or contraceptive injections without their consent. The commission was established after experts failed to reach consensus on whether the practice constituted genocide.
