Walmart settles US government's opioid lawsuit
Walmart has reached a settlement with the US government over allegations that it repeatedly violated the federal Controlled Substances Act from 2013 onwards. The Justice Department filed the complaint against the Arkansas-based retailer in 2020, accusing it of fuelling the opioid crisis through its pharmacy operations. Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
