Syria's al-Sharaa appoints SDF commander as adviser after Kurdish force dissolves

Syrian leader Ahmad al-Sharaa has appointed the commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as his adviser, days after the SDF dissolved and integrated into the Syrian army, ending a decade of independent existence. Washington described the move as "genuine integration." The appointment follows the SDF commander Abdi's declaration that the force was dissolved.
