Government cuts Constitutional Tribunal's budget — the role of Święczkowski
The Polish government has cut all budget funding to the Constitutional Tribunal in what insiders call the "nuclear option." An anonymous source close to the Tribunal says chief justice Święczkowski feared calling a General Assembly in August, worried that newly appointed judges would enter and take control. That delay is said to have led directly to the Tribunal losing its budgetary allocation.
