Polish F-16s lacked key data link when Russian missile crossed into Poland
When a Russian missile violated Polish airspace on July 30 and crashed near Tarnawa-Kolonia, the on-duty pair of F-16s could not use the Link-16 data-exchange system, hampering pilots' ability to respond. The military did not publicly disclose this failure or other shortcomings exposed by the incident. The episode points to more serious gaps in Poland's air-defence capability than officially acknowledged.
