Kraken users briefly locked out after flood of sanctioned crypto transactions
Between August 17 and 24, a wave of sanctioned cryptocurrency transactions was spread to Kraken users, triggering automatic account restrictions and briefly locking them out. The activity appeared deliberately designed to contaminate accounts by associating them with sanctioned funds, rather than to transfer value in the usual sense.
