EU presses Meta to extend US teen safety rules to Europe

The European Union is demanding that Meta apply the same protections for under-18s in Europe that it agreed to in a landmark US settlement. The measures include screen-time limits and stronger parental controls on Facebook and Instagram. Brussels is also pushing for additional safeguards beyond what was agreed in the American deal.
