Nepal flood disaster: glacier collapse triggered debris flow at 150 km/h across 80 km

New satellite imagery and video analysis show that Nepal's deadly flood disaster began when part of a glacier near the Chinese border collapsed, unleashing a debris flow that raced downstream at up to 150 km/h and devastated communities across more than 80 kilometres. Scientists are still reconstructing the exact sequence of events. Authorities warn the disaster may not be over as a newly formed lake upstream has begun to overflow.
