Haakon VIII becomes Norway's new king after father Harald V's death

Following the death of King Harald V, Crown Prince Haakon automatically ascended to the throne, becoming King Haakon VIII of Norway. The country now has a new monarch after Harald V's 35-year reign came to an end.
