Archaeologists uncover remains of 18th-century pyramid-shaped guardhouse in Łazienki Park

An archaeologist from the University of Warsaw has discovered the remains of the first guardhouse in Warsaw's Royal Łazienki Park, which had a distinctive pyramid shape. King Stanisław August Poniatowski described the structure in letters to his court painter Marcello Bacciarelli. The building reflected the 18th-century fashion for ancient motifs.
