Trump renames Lake Ontario to "Lake America" — Canada refuses to recognise the change

Donald Trump signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario as "Lake America." Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney rejected the move, writing: "This lake is called Lake Ontario — today and forever," and noting the name Ontario derives from the Wendat language and is over 400 years old. The dispute marks another escalation in tensions between Ottawa and Washington.
