Nepal and Tibet floods wiped out entire villages — satellite images reveal scale of destruction

Violent floods struck mountainous areas on the Nepal-Tibet border on 26 August, wiping entire villages off the map. New satellite images compare the same areas before the disaster — from April 2024 — with the situation after the floods, revealing the enormous scale of destruction. In many locations, no trace of the former settlements remains.
