Magierowski: Poland booms economically but the West still treats it as second-tier

Commentator Marek Magierowski argues that although Poland is now seen as an economic success story — dynamic, clean and safe — the West continues to sideline Central and Eastern European countries on key decisions. He cites the selection of NATO's Secretary General and the composition of the Rhine Group, from which Poland was excluded citing "logistical problems", as examples. In his view, the mental Iron Curtain between Western and Eastern Europe remains very much alive.
