Research published in a leading medical journal found that at least 15,000 women a year across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland develop undiagnosed PTSD following childbirth. The true toll could be double that figure or more, according to the study's authors. Experts are calling for better GP training to identify symptoms and for coordinated postnatal support.
