Syria's president appoints ex-SDF commander Mazloum Abdi as presidential advisor

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has appointed Mazloum Abdi, former commander of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as a presidential advisor. The appointment came just three days after the SDF was formally dissolved. The move may signal an attempt to integrate Kurdish forces into the new Damascus-led government.
