Meta patches smart glasses loophole: covering LED will now stop the camera recording
Meta is updating its AI-powered smart glasses to close a loophole that let wearers continue recording after covering the front-facing LED indicator. Going forward, the camera will automatically stop if the LED is covered during recording, according to Meta's VP of augmented reality Alex Himel. The company is also launching a new marketing campaign to address the product's reputation for enabling covert surveillance.
