Six charged over €4.5m flood aid fraud — the flood never reached their firms
Poland's Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) detained six people suspected of fraudulently claiming 4.5 million zlotys in aid meant for businesses affected by the September 2024 floods. Among those detained is a former senior official of the Karkonoska Agency for Regional Development, which disbursed the funds. The European Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed the flood never reached the companies' premises.
